MINNESOTA, IOWA, IDAHO, SOUTH DAKOTA – The Whitfield-Keil family traveled to Collegeville, Minnesota to attend Noah Whitfield’s senior night where he wrestles for Saint John’s University. Whitfield’s team, the Johnnies, earned five bonus-point wins in a 38-12 dual victory over Buena Vista (Iowa) on Saturday night, Jan. 18, at their home meet in Sexton Arena.
Devin Weber is wrestling for Grand View University. His freshman year he redshirted and finished that season with a 20-8 record. He then medical redshirted his sophomore year. So far this year he has a 12-6 record. His team has won back-to-back national titles and is ranked first this year.

Track College Corner
Weber State traveled to Idaho State’s Snake River Invitational Meet. Danielle Brow (WHS ‘20) placed seventh in the 3000m run with a time of 10:05.65. Rodee Brow (WHS ‘22) placed sixth in the 200m dash with a time of 22.10. The Brows will be assisting their track team put on the Weber State High School Invitation this weekend. Their next meet will be at the Washington Invitational in Seattle, Washington on Jan. 31st – Feb. 1.
Brock Peasley (WHS ‘24), SD Mines, and Laynie Goertz (WHS ‘24), Chadron State, competed at the Dave Little Alumni Mile meet in Spearfish, South Dakota on Jan. 18. Peasley ran 23.93, good for 12th in the 200 and jumped 18’11.75 in the long jump which earned him 17th place. Goertz placed sixth and ran 8.42 in the 60m finals. In addition, Laynie placed fifth in the 200m running a time of 28.33. Goertz will compete at the Myrle Hanson Open in Spearfish on Saturday. Peasley will be at the University of Mary, in Bismark, North Dakota, for the Winter Classic on Saturday.
The University of Wyoming track team elected not to travel to Colorado University in Boulder, Colorado due to the weather. Lily Nichols (WHS ‘24), UW, will be at CU to compete on Jan. 31. Tyler Bohnen (WHS ‘24), Purdue Northwest, will compete on Saturday in Aurora, Illinois.
