To the Editor:
YES, I am writing in opposition to the proposed NextEra “Chugwater Energy Project”.
My husband and I raised our three children east of Chugwater on our farm … very near where this project is proposed to be. We still live east of Chugwaer.
Going back further in my heritage, I, plus my siblings, were raised west of Chugwater on a ranch. Going back even further, my father was raised on this ranch, my grandparents both homesteaded. Chugwater is HOME to me.
This NextEra “Chugwater Energy Project” will be taking up tons of agriculture land, is inefficient energy, is NOT green, will be a visual blight, will reduce our property values, will be noisy, is unable to replace the coal-fired plant we already have in our area, will kill birds and bats, will disrupt our local ecosystem. I could go on, but you get the gist …
