Charlotte Cleo Grigsby (nee Skinner) passed away peacefully in her home the morning of September 6, 2024.
Born on March 13, 1926, in Wheatland, Charlotte embodied being an independent woman with a deep devotion to her family. With a witty sense of humor, the patience of a saint, and an endless supply of compassion, Charlotte had a way of welcoming people into her life with acceptance and open arms.
Charlotte loved knitting, gardening, camping, and she was an expert at long road trips. If there was a way for her to be outside, she found it. A member of Medford Friends Church, Charlotte demonstrated her faith to the Lord in her day to day life. Charlotte held a deep love for her mother and siblings, and she loved being one of “the sisters”.
In 1946 Charlotte married Raymond E. Grigsby, and the two eventually adopted two children, Randall W. Grigsby, and Janice R. Grigsby. She was blessed with 5 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren by blood, as well as 7 extended great grandchildren, and 2 extended great great grandchildren.
Charlotte loved being a sister and a mother, but her passion was being a grandmother. She extended her love of the outdoors to her children and grandchildren, and her summers were filled with camping, rafting, and watching the kids swim. Even as her grandchildren became adults themselves, her home remained busy. Her children and grandchildren will fondly remember her waving goodbye after “a trip to Grandma’s house”. Standing in front of her door, an ever-present smile on her face, she always managed to stand taller than life’s problems and make them seem small when she was with you.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Minor and Zelda, her husband and son, her 3 brothers, Bobby, Floyd, and Charles Skinner, and 3 of her sisters, Shirley Wilkins, Darlene Peabody, and Maxine Beebe.
Charlotte is survived by her daughter, two sisters, Betty Konopasek, and Sandra Weaver, and by her grandchildren.
