Bulldogs come home with win against Herders

GLENROCK –The WHS Boys Basketball team traveled to Glenrock on Saturday, Feb. 15. The Bulldogs were in a nailbiter after the first two quarters with a tied score and only a few seconds left, then Glenrock cashed a bucket to go up by two at half.
After a few adjustments, WHS came out attacking the rim using high screens and a dribble drive look. The Dawgs were able to pull out the win 48-39 over the Herders.
Coach Mick Cochran recapped the game, “Glenrock is a scary opponent. They have a lot of talented players and used the common theme of face guarding our shooters and trying to make others beat them. That worked well for them in the first half. In the second half our use of high ball screens to get to the rim and finish and find open scorers proved to be the difference. We guarded much better in the second half and until the last minute, we rebounded better as well.”
“It was a big win for us in a tough atmosphere. It’s always nice to escape Glenrock with a win,” Cochran said.
Leaders in statistics were Jacob Miller with 18 points, Nolan Schaffner with 10 points, Tate Nichols added seven points, and Jake Hyche netted seven points.
