On the girls’ side, Wheatland was led by Lily Nichols and Macy Jones. Lily fired a two-day total of 186, while Macy Jones was close behind with a 189. Both girls finished in the top 10 on the leaderboard. As a team, the girls had a two-day total of 582 which was good enough for third place behind Sheridan and Natrona.
“Overall, our coaching staff is impressed with the improvement of all of our players,” WHS golf coach Tony Nichols said. “We are excited for conference and state coming up. With the progress they have made, I’m confident our boys will make a solid showing at both venues. For our girls, the goal is still the same. First, win conference in Douglas and battle for a state title Lander the following week.
