GUERNSEY – Memorial services for Edward “Butch” Orr Jr., 83, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Guernsey with Father Dan Kostelc officiating. Burial will follow in the Hartville Cemetery. Butch died Sept. 17, 2021, at Goshen Healthcare Community and cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to the family for a headstone. Butch was born March 6, 1938, in Marysville, Kansas, the son of Edward Sr. and Phyllis (Upward) Orr. The family moved to Hartville in 1945 and he attended and graduated high school at Sunrise. He joined the U.S. Navy and served for four years. After his discharge, he returned to the family ranch in Hartville. He ranched there until shortly before his death. He married Nadine Barden and they had three sons and were later divorced. He married Deena Testolin at the ranch on Aug. 17, 1991. 

Butch enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his four-wheeler, helping other people and loved to tease. He was a member of the Guernsey Rural Fire District where he had served as chief for several years. 

Butch is survived by his wife Deena of Hartville: sons Roy “Peewee” (Kathy) Orr and John Orr of Guernsey and Jerry Joe Orr of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; stepdaughters Kathy (John) Bland of Oklahoma and Jacque King; a sister Jeanette (Bill) Perich of Atchison, Kansas; ten grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson; two brothers; and one sister.
