DOUGLAS – Delbert Derald Dick, 92, was born Tuesday, Feb. 5, 1929, on a farm near O’Neill, Nebraska and passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Memorial Hospital of Converse County in Douglas.

Delbert began his ministry preaching in small rural communities in Nebraska. He joined the American Sunday School Union (now InFaith) on Feb. 1, 1953, and continued preaching, holding Bible studies, and organizing Vacation Bible Schools throughout small communities in Nebraska, followed by northern Wyoming and southeastern Wyoming. He directed Camp Grace from 1966-1996. Those who knew Delbert know that he never truly retired from this work that he believed God had called him to do.

Delbert met Dorothy Wasson in 1958 when she came from Missouri to Wyoming to teach Vacation Bible School. Before the end of the summer, Delbert and Dorothy were engaged. They were married July 23, 1959.

Delbert is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his three children, David (Pam), Dean (Teresa), and Dixie (Victor); as well as many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

A service to honor his life, followed by a light lunch, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 12, 2021, at the Wheatland Bible Church, 597 Ferguson Road, Wheatland.
