WHEATLAND – Ann Eleanor (Swallow) Cozad died May 30, 2021, of natural causes in Greeley, Colorado. She was born Jan. 10, 1945, in Casper to Laurence I. and Syneve (Barhaug) Swallow. She was raised in Wheatland and attended Wheatland schools.

On March 17, 1962, Ann married Howard H. Cozad in Wheatland. They had two boys, Garey L. (Kathy) Cozad of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Larry H. (Julie) Cozad of Milliken, Colorado. 

Ann worked several places in Wheatland, most notably as Deputy Platte County Clerk of Court for several years. She and her husband owned and operated Howard’s Welding and later owned and operated Wheatland Fire Equipment in Wheatland.

Ann was a life-long member of the Wheatland United Methodist Church and a former long-time member of ESA-Sigma Chi philanthropic organization. 

Ann is survived by her sons, Garey and Larry, grandchildren, Taylor Cozad of Taylor Mill, Kentucky, Leah (Jeremiah) Giambartolomei of Littleton Colorado, and LeAnne Tellez of Greeley, Colorado; sisters, Judy Eastman and Bonnie (Alan) Weber of Wheatland, and Jenny (David) Herriott of Franklin, Tennessee; five great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Howard on Feb. 23, 2007, father on April 4, 1996, mother on February 18, 2006, and granddaughter, Abigail Ann Cozad, on June 1, 2015.

Memorial services will be held at a later date in Wheatland. Adamson Life Celebration Home in Greeley, Colorado, is in charge of arrangements.
