Ned was born Oct. 27, 1931 in Berthoud, Colorado to Beach and Bessie (Sloan) Lieuallen.
Ned grew up and attended school in Colorado and Wyoming. Ned graduated from Wheatland High School in May 1950.
On, Sept. 11, 1950, Ned joined the National Guard where he served his country in the Korean War. He served in the 141st Tank Battalion and was promoted to Tech Sergeant in July 1951.
He was honorably discharged from the Guard in June of 1952. For his service in Korea he was awarded with the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, Overseas Bar and the United States Service Medal.
He was a lifetime member of the VFW.
Ned was a true entrepreneur with a pioneer spirit. He was employed by the State of Wyoming, for 10 years, as a Brand Inspector.
He owned and operated Lieuallen Trenching and owned and operated a local restaurant in Basin, but he was always happiest when he was farming, riding and running cattle
He is survived by long-time companion Linda Dunn, sons Mike Lieuallen of Sheridan, John (Billie) Lieuallen of Sheridan, Jesse Lieuallen of Dallas, Texas, daughters Diane Lieuallen of Casper, Michele Lieuallen of Florence, Mont., Shawn (Lynn) Young of Buffalo, and his step-sons Kit Moore of Thermopolis, and Irvin Moore of Rock Springs, and Linda’s children Robert (Amy) Dunn, Torrington and Linda Lee (Joe) Pokorski of Hot Springs, S.D.
He is also survived by too many close friends to name them all. A funeral service will be held for Ned on March 1 at Presbyterian Church in Fort Laramie at 2 p.m.
