Posted: Wednesday, May 7th, 2014

History comes alive at Wheatland Middle School with National History Day. Seven students have competed at district and state level and were chosen to represent Wyoming at the nationals in Washington D.C. June 15 – 19.

History Day is a competition wherein students from sixth to twelfth grade research and develop projects under their interpretation of the theme. This year’s theme is “Rights and Responsibilities in History.” The categories for projects include: performance, documentary, web site, paper or exhibit and they may enter as individuals or as a group.

The girls are trying to raise money for their trip and are having a raffle to win a $100 gas card, Kindle Paper White or a sapphire and golden pearl pendant with chain. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. The drawing will be held May 29. Tickets available from the girls or by calling 322-5336.
