At Monday's town council meeting in Wheatland, the council approved a first read for a new sanitation increase. The new rate is in response to the landfill closing and the new transfer station being built. According to town documents, the increase is to cover any loans accrued by the town from the State of Wyoming for the transfer station while maintaining garbage operations.
For single-family homes rates will increase by $16.50 to $20, for multi-family homes including duplexes and apartments and senior citizens complexes the rate will increase $20 per month per unit for weekly collection.
