Guernsey boys defeat Midwest, Rock River

GUERNSEY – The Viking boys put three players in double figures as they rolled over the Midwest Oilers Friday night 68-37 for their fifth win of the season.

The game was never in doubt as the Vikings outscored the Oilers 38-25 in the first half.

The Vikings shot 24-of-53 from 3-point range and hit 5-of-15 from three-point land. They hit 5-of-16 free-throw attempts, took down 30 rebounds and committed 24 fouls and 15 turnovers.

The Oilers hit 9-of-38 from twopoint range and 1-of-6 from the arc. They made 16-of-26 free-throws, had 31 rebounds, 20 fouls and 27turnovers.

At Rock River last Monday, the Vikings roped in the Longhorns 75-48. With a 38-12 lead by half, the game was all Vikings all four quarters.

The Vikings shot 26-of-46 twopoint shots, and 6-of-19 3-point attempts. They hit 5-of-9 free-throws, had 35 rebounds and committed 13 fouls and 15 turnovers.

The Longhorns hit 6 of 22 from twopoint range and 10 of 28 three-point shots. They hit 6 of 11 free-throws, had 29 rebounds, 8 fouls and 24 turnovers. The win put the Vikings at 5-1 for the season.
