Summer will be back again

Photos/Karry Coburn Volunteers build Pergolas in the pocket park. Back row, L to R: Joe Fabian, Steve Parmley, Rick Robbins, Kathy Jones, Stu Hammersmark. Front row, kneeling: Dan Brecht and Christian Roesholm.

The Pocket Park is a beautiful peaceful place for picnics, a coffee break or even just a moment to admire the glorious murals. Unfortunately, it becomes beastly hot under the sun and so is mostly deserted in the heat of the day.

Missouri Basin Power Project has stepped up to provide some of the funding for four pergolas that will provide much needed shade while not detracting from the artistic integrity of the space.

Volunteers have been hard at work to complete the project before the weather turns bad.

Be sure to stop by the park to admire their handiwork and maybe enjoy an autumn picnic.
