FRESNO, Calif. - A former elementary school teacher, reporter and editor from California explored Wheatland, checked out what's cooking at Chugwater Chili and took in the sights of gorgeous Glendo State Park - all from the comfort of his home.
John Patrick Dodds of Fresno "visited" Platte County on Friday as part of his blog, Every County. Dodds' blog explores the country, one county at a time, illustrating what makes each unique.
Dodds began his Wyoming journey in Laramie County, going to Goshen, Platte and next in Niobrara.
It was a trip through Iowa about 10 years ago with his son that inspired the blogger's web-based wanderlust.
"My son and I spent a couple of summers in my home state of Iowa visiting every county," Dodds said. "The idea there was to see everything there was to see in Iowa."
He added it took the duo a total of about a month to travel to all 99 counties. For the complete article see the 09-18-2013 issue.
