Tambre ‘Tami’ Spohn

Posted: Wednesday, Jul 10th, 2013

Tambre ‘Tami’ Spohn, 49, passed away due to complications from her 30-year battle with diabetes on July 2, 2013 at Wyoming Medical Center (WMC).

A memorial to celebrate her life will be held July 12, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Wheatland.

As a child, Tami enjoyed spending time with her three siblings, keeping their mother on her toes as they always found mischief on their many adventures. She was a member of her high school pep squad serving as captain for a season. Later, she went on to receive an Associate’s of Business Management degree from Parks Community College in 1990.

In 1982, she married the love of her life, Richard Spohn. Soon after their union, they moved to Casper for a brief time before settling in Denver for a close to 10 years. While in Denver, she gave birth to two children and earned her college degree. In 1996, the couple returned to Wheatland to raise their children in a small community of family and friends.

Tami enjoyed her time working hard in the community at various places including Safeway, DC Dollar, Radio Shack and numerous school fundraising functions. To simply say she was a hard worker is an understatement. She was always on the go, tending to something for anyone who was in need.

Family and friends were Tami’s passion and delight. Her mission in life was to bring everyone joy. If Tami were having a bad day, she’d seek out anyone who appeared to being having a hard day, too, just to share a joke, laugh or even a simple smile. For when Tami smiled, her eyes illuminated anything she gazed upon. She knew the best way to heal a hurt soul was through laughter, support of a friend and a moment of joy. If ever Tami met a stranger, they wouldn’t be a stranger for very long.

Her final two months were spent in Casper, near her two children, at a rehabilitation unit to regain mobility. She spent her time showing her children how she could “hop” on one leg, regain strength and just simply love and support them.

She is survived by her “world and love of her life” husband Richard. Her children Eagle “Will” Spohn and Natasha (Ryan) Robertson; her beloved grandson, Gavin L. Mills. Father Robert “Bob” and mom Pat Dannels; sister Erin (Ron) Youngs; stepsisters Claudia Lynn(Jeff) Jaeger, Christine Craig, brother Kent (Amy) Dannels; step brother Louis (Kenny) Waits. Nieces and nephews, Jackie (Scott) Cisco, Thadd, Austin, Derik Youngs; Brooke, Levi, Kassidy Dannels; Josh, Wyatt, Zach Craig; Tabetha (Eric) Vang; Forrest Jaeger, along with aunts, uncles and many more family members as well as friends.

She was preceded in death by her best friend and mother, Mary Dannels, brother Robin Dannels, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
