WHEATLAND – Immigration and intrigue will set the stage for the Platte County Historical Society’s meeting on Tuesday, June 25 when author and historian Karen Schutte presents “Seed of the Volga,” a novel about her great-grandparents who immigrated from the German settlements on the Volga River in Russia. The free program begins at 7 p.m. at the Platte County Library. This program was originally scheduled last February but was postponed due to a winter storm!
“I hope my historical stories will prompt my readers to stop and wonder about his/her own family history; to begin to ask questions and record what they can find out before it is gone forever,” the author said.
