WHEATLAND – Wesley Benson wasn’t quite ready for it when he was flipped upside down.

To demonstrate the security of a stretcher and its various fasteners, completely immobilizing the patient when properly used, emergency medical technician Jordan Ham tilted seventh-grader Benson up, much to the amusement of his fellow group members.

Using emergency medical equipment was among many activities during the inaugural Camp Med at Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland. The camp took place last week, welcoming seven seventh-graders to the hospital and introducing them to the world of medicine.
