WHEATLAND ó Three workers were hospitalized after a fire broke out on Sunday at the Wheatland area power plant.
On Sunday at approximately 6 a.m., the Wheatland Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire at the Laramie River Station to assist in extinguishing a fire in the power plantís coal unloading area. A high-level alarm was indicated in one of the dust collection hoppers. In an effort to resolve the issue, three employees suffered injuries and were transported to the Platte County Memorial Hospital for further evaluation. Two employees have since been released and will follow up at the North Colorado Medical Center Western States Burn Center in Greeley, Colo., burn center today. The third employee was flown to the burn center and remains under care.
