A graveside service for Eva E. Stockett, 89, will be held Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Wheatland Cemetery in Wheatland with Robert Kissel speaking.
Eva Stockett a former resident of Chugwater and recent resident of Delta County, Colo., passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013 at the Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction, Colo. of natural causes.
Eva was born May 11, 1923 in Chugwater, the daughter of Lynn and Minerva (Rutledge) Pitzer.
She spent her childhood and attended schools in Chugwater. On Nov. 5, 1938, she married Lloyd Stockett in Denver. They celebrated 59 years of marriage before Lloyd passed away in 1997. She enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother, and spending time with her family. She was active in church activities at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Cedaredge, Colo.
She is survived by her daughter, Dona Baptist of Cedaredge; three grandsons; 10 great grandchildren; and 15 great-great grandchildren.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Stockett and two sons, Donald and Dennis Stockett.
A memorial to the Hospice and Palliative in care of Western Colorado, P.O. Box 24, Delta, CO 81416 would be appreciated by the family.
