Beverly June Engstrom Luchsinger

Beverly June Engstrom Luchsinger, 78, of Pearland, Texas was born in Minneapolis on June 14, 1934 to Arthur E. Engstrom and Gudrun Berntsen Engstrom and died on Friday, March 29, 2013 in Houston.

After graduating from high school in Madison, Minn., she worked for Delta Airlines in 1953 in Columbia, S.C. and later in St. Louis. She met her future husband in 1955 at the A Bar A Dude Ranch in Riverside and later married at the Remuda Dude Ranch on April 18, 1956 in Arizona.

Beverly graduated from the University of Wyoming with an M.S.N. degree in Nursing and was employed by the Platte County Memorial Hospital, and later by the Platte County Public Health Agency in Wheatland. After moving to Cheyenne in 1983, she was employed by the State of Wyoming and was a nursing instructor at Laramie County Community College before retiring in 1995. She was an active participant in the Episcopal Church, PEO, Theatre, Art, and Vocal Music over the years. In 2007, she relocated to Pearland, where she lived at Country Place until her death.

She is preceded in death by her father, Arthur Edmund Engstrom; mother, Gudrun Berntsen Engstrom; stepmother, Vera Hokanson Engstrom; brother, Gerald Engstrom; stepsister, Carole Hokanson Pilcher and husband Elton Dean Luchsinger.

She is survived by stepbrother, Robert (Buzz) Hokanson; three children, Michael Luchsinger, James Luchsinger and Dina Luchsinger Johnson; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held on Tuesday April 2, 2013 at the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 1207 W. Winding Way Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546 at 10 a.m. with The Rev. Bob Moore officiating.
