Posted: Wednesday, Apr 3rd, 2013

Elizabeth Owen, a Wheatland native, reflected in her work. She runs an art studio in Glenrock.

GLENROCK – Some of the first noticed things in the front room of Elizabeth Owen Fine Arts are the skulls. Several skulls hang on the walls. CDs by a hard rock band, with a hard rock name, Dark by Nature, are stacked on a shelf. The band can be heard playing through an open laptop on the other side of a door-less threshold in the back room, where Elizabeth Owen sits on her black chair, tattooing her latest customer. She is adding to his nearly full sleeve on his right arm. The rock music features Owen’s husband Nathan on the bass guitar. Contrary to the customer’s request, the metal is turned off after a few minutes to give way to country singer Eric Church.

“I can’t tattoo to angry music,” she declared.
