GUERNSEY – It’s no secret Platte County is one of the windier places around. While the high-speed gusts have their disadvantages, they’re also not without their uses.
Cheyenne-based Winhyne Energy is planning to build an innovative energy project near Guernsey – a cluster of wind turbines capable of storing energy for use at any time. Winhyne president and Vice Chairman recently presented the project to the Platte County Commission. The technology implemented in the prospective turbines could potentially make wind power more efficient in terms of capturing energy.
