Bulldogs take down Herders

Posted: Wednesday, Feb 20th, 2013

Wheatland’s Tyler Pollock drives the ball down the court against Glenrock during last week’s home game. The Bulldogs play one last game on the road this coming week, traveling to Rawlins to take on the No. 2 Outlaws for the second time this season.

WHEATLAND – The Wheatland Bulldogs (13-7 overall, 7-6 conference) chalked up another “W” on Friday, avenging an earlier loss to the Glenrock Herders (10-12 overall, 5-8 conference).

The Bulldogs had the lead for all but a single quarter during Senior Night at home; by the end of the third, the Herders had the momentum 37-33. However, Wheatland bounced right back with a 12-point streak and then some during the fourth quarter, putting them over the top for the win 57-45.

The boys team hits the road again for the final game of the regular season, squaring off against the No. 2 Rawlins Outlaws (15-5 overall, 11-2 conference).

The Outlaws are first in the 3A East conference. The Bulldogs, who currently find themselves in third place, will be looking for revenge after losing a home game heartbreaker to Rawlins on Jan. 25 54-52.

The Outlaws are coming off of two-double digit conference wins against the winless Worland Warriors (93-60) and the Glenrock Herders (50-46), bolstering them above the Douglas Bearcats in the standings by a single conference game.
