Initial planning is taking place to declare the building now housing The Coffee Shop as a historical landmark. This building housed the original offices of the Wyoming Development Company, the entrepreneurial enterprise begun by prominent men of the times including Judge Joseph Carey and Sir Horace Plunkett to develop the Wheatland Irrigation System. Their purpose included plans to lay out a town and supply it with water and to facilitate the building of railroads, tramways, mills, and factories as needed.
