With flu activity on the rise, Public Health gives shots

WHEATLAND – Platte County Public Health has been a busy facility this year.

With flu season in full swing, Kathy McGuire, Public Health’s nurse manager, said the service has administered more than 2,000 flu shots this season.

“We’ve given about 20 flu shots a day,” McGuire said. “People are listening to the news and paying more attention to (the flu season) than a few years ago. We have given more flu shots this year than in the last five years.”
