Memorial services for Thomas S. Jankowski, 84, will be held a 10am Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Ft. Laramie Presbyterian Church with Reverend Beth Wilson officiating. Tom died December 21, 2012 at his home in Ft. Laramie and cremation has taken place. Private family scattering of the ashes will take place at a later date. A memorial has been established to the family to assist with funeral expenses. Tom was born January 31, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Stanley and Mildred (Johnson) Jankowski. He grew up and received his early education there. He joined the Merchant Marines when he was sixteen and served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. After his discharge from the military he came to Wyoming in 1961, He met and married Annette Paules on October 22, 1963 in Wheatland, Wyoming. He worked as a welder in many places in Wyoming and lastly as a security guard at Old Fort Laramie.
Tom enjoyed many hobbies among them hunting, fishing, drawing, painting, and black powder shooting. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the National Rifle Association.
Tom is survive by his wife Annette of Ft. Laramie, Wyoming; two sons Tom Jankowski and his wife Deena of Rock Springs, Wyoming and Eric Jankowski and his fiancÚ Michelle Thompson of Hot Springs, South Dakota; two daughters Tonia Jankowski of Guernsey, Wyoming and Mary Hoy and her husband Trampus of Wheatland, Wyoming; ten grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister.
