Billy Linton 95, of Longmont passed away September 26, 2012 at Applewood Living Center. He was born on March 11, 1917 in Wheatland, Wyoming to Harry G. and Hattie (Petty) Linton.
After graduating High School in Wheatland, Wyoming he joined the US Air Force in 1940. Billy served in three Wars at various Air Force basses both foreign and domestic.
He retired from the Air Force in 1970 at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska as a Chief Master Sergeant.
Billy moved to Longmont in 1970 and worked for IBM retiring in1983. He married Verlene Baker on August 19, 1991 and enjoyed woodworking.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Dorothy (Lutey) Linton, brothers George and Everett Linton, and step son Dan Baker.
Billy is survived by his wife Verlene H. (Baker) Linton of Longmont, step son Dick Baker of Longmont, brother Raymond Linton and wife LaQuita of Denver, sister Cora Bowman of Casper, Wyo. and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 1 PM to 1:30 PM Saturday Sept. 29, 2012 with funeral service to follow at 1:30 PM at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Interment will be 1:30 PM Monday Oct. 1, 2012 at Kimball Cemetery in Kimball, Nebraska. Share condolences at www.ahlbergfuneralchapel.com.
