The Platte County Little Lobos’ All Stars teams headed to Riverton last week to participate in the State Little League Tournament.

The 9-10 year old team took third overall at the event. Results for individual games were unavailable as of press time.

For the 11-12 year olds, action started on a high note against Bridger Valley, when they won 14-5. Their next game was against Cody, which ended 5-4 Wheatland.

Wheatland lost their first game against the Gillette Nationals, who won 8-4.

Going 2-1 in the pool play, Wheatland barely missed the score requirements for the Championship bracket, and found themselves in the consolation bracket for the remainder of the tournament.

The team beat Kemmerer 28-2, and lost to Powell 12-9, which ended their tournament action.

Highlights for the 11-12 year olds included a three-run homer hit by Josh Calvert.

This finishes the 2010 Little League season.
