Assassination, espionage, treachery and deception. The words evoke a scene from a popular action movie, but they can also describe the 1170 martyrdom of Thomas Beckett, the archbishop of Canterbury. T.S. Elliot’s play “Murder in the Cathedral” is the intriguing story of Beckett’s murder, and will be performed by the Platte County Players on Jan. 17, 18 and 19 at the All Saints Episcopal Church. It is directed by Pat Mitchell.
