Elizabeth was born in Windsor, Colo., on Nov. 27, 1912 to William and Elizabeth Eichler. Her parents were German farmers who emigrated from Russia. She had 9 siblings. The family moved to Wheatland in 1928. She met Henry Geringer, and they were married in 1931. They had 5 children and farmed until 1982 when they moved to Greeley, Colo. In 2005, she moved back to Wheatland, residing at Country Club Living and Platte County Memorial Nursing home. The last month of her life she lived in Los Alamos, NM. She celebrated her 101st birthday 14 days prior to her death. She was very proud of her German heritage, a devout Lutheran, loved to play cards, Dutch hop and cooked delicious German foods for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, her infant son, Robert; daughter, Darlene Fabricius; and 7 of her siblings. She is survived by her daughter Jeri and Jim McClun of Veteran Wyo.; son John and Barbara Geringer of Mountain Grove, Mo.; her daughter, Margaret Davis of Los Alamos, N.M.; son-in-law, Tom Fabricius of Aurora, Colo., her sisters Esther Lockman of Wheatland; and Helen and Lyle Gilbert of Cheyenne; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
The family request memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church of Wheatland or a charity of your choice. Services were held Dec. 17 at Trinity Lutheran Church.
