A graveside service for Mark Leslie Lautrup, 46, was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013 at the Douglas Park Cemetery in Douglas with Pastor Jerry Martin of Cowboy Church Ministries in Carpenter officiating.
Mark Lautrup was a resident of Dillon, Colo. and died Sunday, July 28, 2013, in New Carrollton, Md.
He was born Dec. 30, 1966 in New London, Conn. the son of Robert W. Lautrup and Bonnie Rankin Terrell.
The son of a U.S. Naval officer, Make lived throughout the United States. His strong family ties in Wyoming recently led him back to the area when he relocated to Colorado from Anchorage, Alaska. He studied business management and was employed by United Postal Service (UPS).
Mark was an avid outdoorsman and most happy when fishing, skiing, biking and snow-machining; however, he was even more passionate about his family. He had a generous, adventurous spirit, and took great joy in sharing his experience and discoveries with those closest to him.
Mark was survived by his parents, Robert W. (Greer) of Oakton, Va. and Bonnie R. (Butch) Terrell of Wheatland; his brother, Joel Lautrup and family, Davelle, Natalie, and Jeffrey of Wasilla, Alaska; and his sister, Kirsten Schoew and family, Gavin and Margot of Littleton, Colo. He also is survived by a large loving extended family.
In lieu of gifts, the family is requesting that donations be made to Make-a-Wish of Colorado in care of Gloria Jara, 7951 East Maplewood Avenue, Suite 126, Greenwood Village, CO 80111.
Serving as pallbearers were Joel Lautrup, Joe Rankin, Jerry Rankin, Dave Craig, Doug Tumminello, Mike Rankin, Chris Rankin, Kelly Rankin, Jim Rankin and Chuck Scherbaum.
The Gorman Funeral Homes – Converse Chapel of Douglas was in charge of the arrangements.
