Patricia Jean Loghry, 82, of Wheatand, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013.
She was born to the late Ralph and Elizabeth Parmenter on Sept. 15, 1930 in Steubenville, Ohio. A graduate of Steubenville High School, she loved working at the Hub department store in downtown Steubenville.
She met her first husband, the late Lawrence B. Penn, and they were married in 1954. The two resided in Medina, Ohio and had two daughters. Patricia’s first husband died in 1968, and she raised her daughters, staying in Medina for more than 20 years. She was employed at Medina Hardware and also worked as a receptionist at a physician’s office. She met and married the late Lee Loghry in Medina in 1977 before relocating to Fort Collins, Colo. There, she helped raise Lee’s grandchildren Angel Loghry and Michael Loghry. She loved children and even ran her own child care out of her home in Median for a short time.
She loved animals, especially cats, and was able to make a trip to Best Friends Animal Society, the nation’s largest sanctuary for abused and abandoned animals in Kanab, Utah.
Patricia was an active member of the Jehovah’s Witness Church in Wheatland. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, daughter Linda Eileen Penn, brother Robert Parmenter and sisters Helen Bush and Betty Wright. She is survived by her daughter Janet Randolph and her husband Rex Randolph of Miamisburg, Ohio.
A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall in Wheatland on Thursday, June 27, at 11 a.m. Patricia will be buried in Steubenville next to her first husband. A graveside service will be held at the Fort Steuben Burial Estate in Wintersville, Ohio at 11 a.m. on July 1, 2013.
