A funeral service for Freddie Lu Weldon, 76, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2013 at the Wheatland United Methodist Church in Wheatland with Pastor Skip Perry officiating and Fred Mastriona as the eulogist. Inurnment will be held at the Wheatland Cemetery.
Freddie Weldon, a long time resident of Wheatland, died Sunday, June 16, 2013 at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne.
Freddie was born May 29, 1937 in Wheatland, the daughter of Fredrick Sylvester and Elta May (Scholle) Searl.
Freddie graduated from Wheatland High School in 1955. Freddie married Donald Dee Weldon on Dec. 25, 1955 in Wheatland. She was employed by the Credit Bureau of Wheatland and worked in credit reporting, collections and public record since 1961. She was a member of the Wheatland United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxillary of Glendo, Therapy Dogs Incorporated as a tester observer and 4-H leader in dog obedience and trainer for more than 40 years. Some of her hobbies included making greeting cards, painting, crochet, crafts, fishing, pinochle and most of all, she loved spending time with her family and her dogs.
Freddie is survived by her daughter, Sage (Skip) Bridger of Pompano Beach, Fla.; sister, Clara (Paul) Leafgren of Idaho; her faithful companions, Daisy and Dakota; and numerous nieces and nephews that were very dear to her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Dee Weldon on December, 16, 2003; her parents; sisters, Mary Weimer, Pearl Rider, Betty McAuley and Olive Searl.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Tom Kahler, Ben Cossman, Scott Rinert, Dale (Hippie) Leeson, Dana Kinsley, Steve Goudy, John Lewis, Hub Lenz, Mark Jenkins and Wayne Wilkerson.
A memorial to the 4-H Dog Program, 57 Antelope Gap Road, Wheatland, WY 82201 or to the American Legion Auxiliary in care of Sandra Lancaster, P.O. Box 87, Glendo, WY 82213 would be appreciated by the family.
