Betty Louise Campbell

A funeral took place at Willamette National Cemetery in Clackamas, Ore. for Betty Louise Campbell, 89, who passed away April 8, 2013.

Betty was born in Wheatland on Nov. 15, 1923, the daughter of Maurice Raphael Rinker and Ethel May McGee. She moved with her family to southern Indiana, where she attended school. She graduated Paoli High School in 1942, returning to Wheatland and working at Campbell’s Café; she eventually married the owner’s son, Joseph A. Campbell in Austin, Texas. In the mid 1950s, Betty moved with her husband and family to Oregon, living first in Salem, then Lake Oswego.

Betty was renowned for her homemade pies and Thanksgiving stuffing.

Betty is survived by her children: Joseph (Sherri) H. Campbell of Portland, Richard (Gladys) of Portland, Mark S. Campbell of Hillsboro, Ore; grandchildren Christopher (Kirstin) G. Campbell, Robert (Erin) S. Campbell, Brian R. Campbell, Curtis (Chelsea) E. Poff, Laura J. Poff; great-grandchildren Asher Campbell, Maxwell Campbell, Caleb Poff, Caitlyn Poff; sisters Margorie (Rinker) Rhodes of Indiana, Doris (Rinker) Labertew of Wheatland and Joyce (Rinker) Trinkle of Denver. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Keith and Jerry Rinker and sister Shirley J. (Rinker) Zabka.
