Funeral services for Sharon Gail Burris, 67, will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Wheatland with Pastor Denzil Mauk officiating. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
Sharon Burris a resident of Wheatland passed away on March 22, 2013 at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in Cheyenne of natural causes.
Sharon was born June 20, 1945 in Laramie the daughter of Joseph and Beula Ann (Moore) Kafka.
Sharon lived around Platte County and Converse County on ranches attending country schools until the ninth grade when she attended Wheatland High School where she graduated from in 1963. After graduation Sharon moved to California with her mother. That is where she met the love of her life Jerry “Pat” Burris. They were married on June 3, 1967 in California where they lived for four years. They decided to move to Cheyenne in September of 1971 and finally making their home in Wheatland in 1978. Some of her hobbies included reading, playing cards, following her grandson in sports and most of all spending time with her family.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Jerry “Pat” Burris of Wheatland; daughter, Lisa Cochran of Wheatland; siblings, Neil (Marsha) Kafka of Wheatland, Doug Kafka of Glenrock, and Marilynn (Tim) Eddy of Pocatello, Idaho; and grandson, Chase Cochran of Wheatland.
She is preceded in death by her father; mother, Beula Ann (Moore) O’Bryan on Aug. 15, 2011; and her siblings, Sylva Kafka on Oct. 20, 1951 and Duane Kafka on Oct. 24, 1951.
A memorial to the Platte County Memorial Nursing Home, P.O. Box 1031, Wheatland, WY 82201 would be appreciated by the family.
