Memorial services for Floyd Albert Wood, 54, will be held at 2pm Friday, September 28, 2012 at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Flom officiating. Floyd died September 24, 2012 at the Community Hospital in Torrington and cremation has taken place. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Floyd was born September 8, 1958 in Casper, Wyoming the son of Willis and Patricia Rose (Portz) Wood. He moved at and early age to eastern where he received his education. After graduation he worked at packing plants in eastern Nebraska. He did Harris Lab Studies for many years in Nebraska. He moved to Torrington in 1995 and started working for Valley Pump Service and then for the sale barn. In 2007 he began work as a tree trimmer.
Floyd enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and anything outdoors. He liked watching wrestling and was an avid coffee drinker.
Floyd is survived by his spiritual wife Darla Grimes of Torrington, Wyoming; step-daughters, Crystal Grimes of Wheatland, Wyoming and Melissa Grimes of Torrington; brothers Russell Wood and Roger Wood of Torrington and Edward Wood; sisters Mary Wood of Torrington, and Ronda Wood and Lisa Wood; ten grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson Taylor Caswell.
