Funeral services for HAZEL D. MUNDSCHENK 88, will be held at 10am on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Reverend Kenneth Humphrey officiating. Burial will follow at 2 pm in the Iowa Flats Cemetery in Chugwater, Wyoming. Memorials may be made to the church. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 pm to 7 pm at the funeral home and the casket will be open prior to the service at the church. Hazel was born August 6, 1921 in Cheyenne, Wyoming the daughter of Amos and Della (Stafford) Jenkins. She grew up and attended school at Chugwater, Wyoming. She married Theodore Schamel on November 25, 1941 in Torrington, Wyoming and they lived in Veteran, Wyoming, Slater, Wyoming, and at the Diamond Ranch near Chugwater before moving back into Chugwater where they lived for nineteen years. They then moved to LaGrange, Wyoming and then to Hawk Springs, Wyoming. Theodore died in 1980. She married Max Mundschenk June 11, 1981 in Torrington and they lived there.
Hazel is survived by four sons Henry Schamel of Torrington, Wyoming, Roy Schamel of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Dale Schamel of Iowa, and Wayne Schamel of Torrington; three daughters Bonnie Schamel of New Mexico, Doris Loggins of Torrington, and Betty Rogers of Torrington; three sisters Irene McClure, Bertha Hatton, and Sue Cole; one brother Robert Jenkins; ten grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands Ted and Max; two sons Ray and Francis; two sisters; and four brothers.
