No services will be held at this time for Vincent J. “Pop” Riccio, 91, of Wheatland, Wyoming. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel of Wheatland.

He died Sunday, October 25, 2009, at the Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland.

Vincent was born March 29, 1918, in Center Valley, Pennsylvania, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Riccio. He was reared and educated in Center Valley and worked for Bethlehem Steel Corporation as a furnace operator for several years. Pop married Francis Shup in 1940. They moved to Wyoming in 1993, living in Rainbow Valley near Laramie and then to Wheatland in 2001. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage and was known for his garden and trees. Pop served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Sellersville, Pennsylvania as well as being a member of the Ancient Order of the Deep (crossing of the Equator).

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Francis of Wheatland; a son, “RC” Riccio of Centennial, Wyoming; a granddaughter; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
