TORRINGTON - The Viking track team finished the regular season meet schedule last Friday, competing in the Wiseman Invitational at Torrington.
Junior long-jumper Hunter Bye brought home the highest individual honors as he claimed second place with a mark of 2011, his best this season by five inches. Willaim Nolan of Cheyenne South took first with a jump of 219.
Bye also competed in the 200-meter dash (24.79) and the 400-meter dash (54.47) but did not place.
Junior Treasure Hollister pick up a pair of fourth-place medals with his mark of 405 in the triple jump and a time of 53.58 in the 400-meter dash. Talon Bullock of Cheyenne Central placed first in the triple jump, clearing 432.75 and Dillon DeMott of Gering finished first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.68.
Senior distance runner Wes Sturdivant put another good day together, finishing fifth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:55.87 and eighth in the 3200-meter run, clocking a 10:55.13. Chris Henry from Laramie took first in the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:36.62 and Jonah Henry, also from Laramie, clocked a 9:28.74 to claim first in the 3200-meter run.
Junior sprinter Austin Quynn claimed the only other individual points for the Vikes as he ran a 24.70 in the 200-meter dash. Quynn also competed in the 300-meter hurdles (48.21) and the high jump (51). Jeff Salinas of Cheyenne Central took first in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 42.43 and David Parkman of Glenrock cleared 61 to win the high jump.
The Vikings remaining points came from the 4x400-meter relay team of Bye, Seth Frederick, Quynn and Hollister who finished seventh with a time of 3:47.27.
