CHEYENNE – The Wheatland High School wrestling team participated
in the Charlie Lake Invite at Cheyenne East High School Dec. 13-14.
After a very competitive Evanston Invite last week, the Bulldogs faced several 4A Wyoming and Colorado schools. Perennial power, Windsor, Colo., took the team title
followed by Cheyenne East and Scottsbluff, Neb.
Coach Colt Goff was pleased with the effort displayed by the Bulldog wrestlers. No varsity wrestlers placed but several Bulldogs competed well against top ranked wrestlers from larger schools. The junior varsity had a competitive showing.
The Bulldogs will host defending state champion Moorcroft this Thursday, December 19 at 5 p.m. at the Wheatland High School gym.
The Bulldogs have faced stiff competition from Wyoming, Utah, Nebraska and Colorado the past two weeks. They will encounter a large group of Montana and western Wyoming wrestlers this weekend in the Worland “Battle of the Bighorns”
