BUFFALO - Poor weather cut Wheatland High School's golf season a bit short, but not before clinching sixth place of 13 teams at the 3A state competition last weekend.
The boys team was sixth with a total score of 364. Patrick Ruwart led the team with the low score of 87. Right behind was Chase Cochran with 88, followed by Kyle Pollock (92), Connor Madsen (97) and Trace Douglas (102).
Girls team golfer Khrysie Snyder took home all-state honors, finishing 10th overall with a score of 104.
Lander took the title this year for the boys' team, their first golf title since 2007. Jackson was close behind, missing the title by a mere two strokes. The home Buffalo Lady Bison took the girls team golf title, their first since 2006, winning by 14 strokes.
