RAWLINS – In a frustrating second matchup between the Wheatland Bulldogs (13-8 overall, 7-7 conference) and the Rawlins Outlaws (16-6 overall, 12-2 conference), Rawlins squeezed by 43-42.
WyoPreps reported the Outlaws were down by eight points with five minutes left in the game, but Rawlins caught up and sunk the final, winning basket with four seconds to go.
According to the unofficial 3A regional tournament matchups, the Bulldogs will first face the Torrington Trailblazers (9-13 overall, 7-7 conference) in Worland. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
The Bulldogs beat the Blazers both times they met this season 48-45 and 47-43.
There’s a chance the Bulldogs may have another shot at the No.1 seed Rawlins. The winner of the Torrington/Wheatland matchup will move on to the semifinals on Friday at 7:30 p.m., where the winner will take on the Rawlins/Worland winner. The loser of each game will move to a consolation round at 1 p.m. on Friday.
