WHEATLAND – The Wheatland Lady Bulldogs (7-12 overall, 5-8 conference) went 1-1 in two conference games this weekend, defeating the last-place Glenrock Lady Herders 4-17 overall, 0-13 conference) 28-25 and falling to the Worland Lady Warriors (2-18 overall, 2-10 conference) in an upset, 50-44.
The Lady Bulldogs defeated both teams earlier in the season, beating Worland 38-31 on Dec. 14 and winning over Glenrock 41-33.
The split weekend puts Wheatland at sixth place in the 3A east behind Torrington and ahead of Worland and Glenrock.
The Lady Bulldogs have one last game before regionals in Worland; Wheatland will host the No. 3 Rawlins Lady Outlaws (17-3 overall, 11-2 conference).
The Lady Outlaws only trail the undefeated No. 1 Douglas Lady Bearcats (22-0 overall, 13-0 conference) in the 3A East conference. Rawlins is on a three-game winning streak, taking down conference opponents Buffalo, Worland and Glenrock.
