Posted: Wednesday, Jan 30th, 2013

Lady Viking Kesley Anderson pushes past a Southeast Cyclone defender during this past weekend’s home game. The Lady Vikings are gearing up to take on Hulett and Niobrara County this week.

GUERNSEY – The Lady Vikings went 0-2 this weekend, dropping games to the Moorcroft Lady Woves 59-19 and the Southeast Cyclones 56-8.

Guernsey-Sunrise (1-15) is last in the 1A Southeast conference, 10 games behind Rock River and 13 behind the Lingle-Fort Laramie Lady Doggers.

The Lady Vikings’ sole win of the season was against the Normative Services JV squad during the season opener, 51-19.

Guernsey-Sunrise is hoping to pick up a few more wins as they prepare to face the Hulett Lady Red Devils at home and Niobrara County Lady Tigers on the road. Hulett (2-7 overall, 0-3 conference) has a busy schedule before taking on the Lady Vikes, facing Arvada-Clearmont and Kaycee before coming to Guernsey. Hulett is last in the 1A Northeast conference.

The Lady Tigers (11-4 overal1, 4-1 conference) is second in the 2A Southeast conference behind Burns. Though not ranked in the WyoPreps poll as of press time, Niobrara County held onto a five-game winning streak before falling to Southeast on Jan. 25. They are looking to add to their winning momentum after beating Burns 47-29 on Jan. 26.
