WHEATLAND - It's a project three years in the making, and it could be wrapped up this month.
Workers continue to build the North Park Subdivision in Wheatland, which would create new business ready spaces and welcome a Gillette-based welding company to the area.
According to the Wyoming Business Council (WBC), Wheatland received nearly $1.5 million in funding from the WBC's Business Ready Community Grant and Loan Program.
The grant's writer, Platte County Economic Development executive director Dan Brecht said the subdivision is located near 16th Street. It will connect Swanson Road, which the WBC also calls the I-25 Business Loop, with 16th.
"We know 16th Street is where the town is growing," Brecht said. "Basically, the town is going to grow and it's probably going to grow on that end. To me, it made sense for something to happen and something to happen there."For the complete article see the 10-02-2013 issue.
