WHEATLAND –Though snow may have made for less-than-ideal driving conditions, the moisture it brought to the region is invaluable.
Alex Sosnowski, senior meterologist with AccuWeather.com, reported two snowstorms within a week in the central and southern plains during the last half of February. However, in Nebraska and Wyoming, much less snow accumulated despite the massive storms.
According to the most recent drought statements from the National Weather Service in Cheyenne., sever drought still affects the southern part of Platte County. Extreme drought conditions prevail over much of the remaining area of southeast Wyoming as of the Feb. 26 report.
