Legislators pass halfway point of session

CHEYENNE Ė Facing the hot-button matter of education reform and other highly debated social issues discussed across the nation, not to mention reaching an agreement on the stateís budget, lawmakers in the Wyoming legislature have a full collective plate.

Itís not over yet.

Late last week, Governor Matt Mead signed into law the first of the sessionís bills that passed through the House and Senate, Senate File 104. SF 104 defers responsibilities from the Superintendent of Public Instruction, currently Cindy Hill, to a new Department of Education director.
