A Wheatland man has died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Ronald Owen Chenevey, 47, died days after the accident, which occurred at about 6:32 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22.
Platte County Sheriff Steve Keigley said Chenevey was westbound on west Fairview, about 9/10 of a mile west of HWY 320 when the accident occurred.
Sheriff Keigley said Chenevey was driving down the road when, for reasons unknown, lost control of the motorcycle and was ejected.
"He was not wearing a helmet," Sheriff Keigley said.
A second motorcyclist, who is reportedly a relative of Chenevey, was behind Chenevey at the time of the accident.
Eastern Wyoming Ambulance Services (EWAS) transported Chenevey to Platte County Memorial Hospital. He was later flown to Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Neb.
Chenevey died at the Regional West Medical Center at 4:40 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25 from injuries sustained during the motorcycle accident.
The motorcycle he was driving was a Yamaha motorcycle (dirt bike), which is not legal for public highways.
