The Wheatland High School Rodeo team recently hosted an event at the Platte County Fairgrounds, with competition going from Friday, September 11, to Saturday September 12.

For the Wheatland team, Maryls McGuire took fifth in the barrels on Friday. On Saturday, she was sixth in the Breakaway.

Amelia McGuire placed high in the Barrels on Friday, with a third. She also took third on Saturday in Barrels. Amelia placed in two other events on Saturday, with a ninth in Breakaway roping, and a third in team roping.

On Friday, Ty Hiatt was third in the Saddle Bronc riding.

Austin Eller took a fourth in the Steer Wrestling on Friday.

Team Ropers Austin Eller and Justin Prewitt were third in the team roping on Friday.

The Wheatland Rodeo team competes in the fall and spring, and also sends contestants to the High School National Finals Rodeo during the summer.
