A One Percent Specific Purpose Sales and Use Tax proposal will be decided upon by the Platte County voters in August.
During their May 6 meeting, The Platte County Commissioners unanimously approved Resolution #2008-07, which essentially places the decision of passing or not passing the Capital Facilities Tax proposal in the hands of the Platte County voters.
This proposal will appear on the August Primary Election Ballot.
The specific amounts for each of the town's projects are stated as follows in Resolution #2008-07:
• $1,500,000 to the County of Platte and Town of Wheatland for a fire hall facility including four truck parking bays, office, exercise room and conference room.
• $650,000 to the Town of Chugwater for reconstruction of streets
• $150,000 to the Town of Glendo for a sanitary sewer main replacement and $600,000 for an emergency services building
• $2,000,000 to the Town of Guernsey for a swimming pool and construction associated with the swimming pool
• $500,000 to the Town of Hartville for the renovation of public buildings, complete fire hall expansion, provide operations and maintenance for public buildings, and design and construct access and extend town services to new home sites.
Platte County Clerk Jean Dixon stated that this resolution is on file in the Platte County Clerk's office and is available to be read and reviewed by the public.
